Pakistan's anti-narcotics force seizes over 2,000 kg of drugs

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan seized over 2,000 kg of narcotics in five separate operations across the country over the last two days, a statement said on Thursday.

In one operation, the ANF raided a house in Qila Abdullah district of the country's southwest Balochistan province, and recovered 2,000 kg of hashish, the statement said.

In another operation in the district, the ANF recovered 289 kg of hashish during a search of a vehicle at a main highway, the statement added.

In the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, three drug peddlers were arrested and one kg of opium was recovered from them.

In a separate operation at an airport in the provincial capital city Lahore of the east Punjab province, 85 ice drug-filled capsules were recovered from a passenger's stomach.

In Faisalabad city of the province, another passenger, concealing two kg of ice drug in his bag, was arrested from an airport in the city, the statement said.
