U.S. stocks close higher

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Thursday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 62.95 points, or 0.17 percent, to 36,117.38. The S&P 500 added 36.25 points, or 0.80 percent, to 4,585.59. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 193.28 points, or 1.37 percent, to 14,339.99.
