Illegal drugs seized in central Myanmar

YANGON, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's authorities have seized 4.18 kg of heroin and 180,000 stimulant tablets in the central region of Mandalay, according to a statement from the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) late Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a passenger vehicle in Thabeikkyin Township in the region on Oct. 5 and confiscated narcotic drugs from two passengers, the statement said.
