Supplies to Gaza cut by Israel in 'long and difficult war'


TEL AVIV: Israel said on Sunday (Oct 8) that it would launch attacks against the group Hamas in response to the surprise large-scale attacks by the group in the Gaza Strip.

Israel's security council had approved steps to bring about the "destruction of the military and governmental capabilities" of Hamas, the office of Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday, reports German news agency (dpa).
