IOM calls for scaling up donor funding to accelerate recovery efforts in E. Libya

TRIPOLI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Saturday urged to immediately scale up donor funding to accelerate recovery efforts in eastern Libya, which was hard hit by deadly floods last month.

The IOM said in a statement that it made the call in order to meet the organization's estimated need for 22-million-U.S. dollar funding to accelerate early recovery efforts in Libya's flood-hit areas, noting that "roughly 30 percent of the required funding has been secured."
