Evenepoel recovers in style to claim Vuelta stage 14 win

MADRID, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Remco Evenepoel of Soudal Quick-Step demonstrated his resilience in the 14th stage of the Vuelta a Espana cycle race on Saturday.

Belgian cyclist, who clinched victory in last year's race, endured a challenging day during Friday's stage in the Pyrenees mountains. He finished over 27 minutes behind Jonas Vingegaard of Jumbo-Visma at the peak of the Col du Tourmalet climb, effectively ending his chances of retaining his title.
