Indonesia upper house speaker says legal means to delay elections should be discussed

JAKARTA (Reuters) - Indonesia's upper house speaker on Wednesday said it was important for the country to discuss a means by which it could delay elections in times of crisis, such as natural disasters, wars, or pandemics.

Indonesia currently has no framework to postpone an election and some politicians have called for the constitution to be amended in future to allow a delay in an emergency situation.
