2 dead in plane crash in Northern California


SAN FRANCISCO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Two people died in a single-engine plane crash Thursday morning near the Rio Vista Municipal Airport, in the U.S. state of California, local officials said.

Firefighters found both occupants inside the plane deceased at the crash site, about a mile east of the airport in Solano County, Northern California, Rio Vista Fire Department officials said.

The National Transportation Safety Board identified the plane as an Experimental Skybolt and is investigating the crash, the agency said in a tweet.

According to the Experimental Aircraft Association, Steen Skybolt planes are small aerobatic planes built from a kit.
