INNSBRUCK, Austria, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- A trade and business forum was held here on Monday to promote closer business ties between China's tech hub Shenzhen and the German-speaking DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

Themed "Innovation and inspiration: building bridges between DACH area and Shenzhen," the forum attracted some 100 participants, including government officials, entrepreneurs and representatives from business associations.

Yuan Xiaofang, an official with the Shenzhen municipal commerce bureau, said in a video speech at the event that the DACH region's strength in sectors such as automation, machinery and high-end manufacturing is highly compatible with Shenzhen's blueprint of building an advanced manufacturing industry.

Yuan said he hoped the two sides can achieve more practical cooperation and work together to boost the development of their industries, adding that Shenzhen will continue to improve its business environment for global investment.

Andreas Altmann, rector of MCI, a business school in Innsbruck, pledged at the forum to help promote exchanges between enterprises in the DACH region and Shenzhen.
