U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar appreciated in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased 1.07 percent to 112.2590 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
