U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Tuesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped 1.5 percent to 110.0690 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
