NEW YORK, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- China's Wang Xiyu reached round of 32 at a Grand Slam tournament for the first time after shocking world No. 3 Maria Sakkari of Greece in the women's singles of the U.S. Open here on Wednesday.
Wang, 21, lost the first set 6-3 to last year's semifinalist Sakkari, but remained calm to keep the 27-year-old third seed at bay with her big groundstrokes.
