U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar jumped in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, rose 0.85 percent to 107.4840 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
