American Smith triumphs in women's 100m backstroke at FINA worlds

BUDAPEST, June 20 (Xinhua) -- American Regan Smith won the women's 100m backstroke title in 58.22 at the 19th FINA World Championships here on Monday.

Canadian Kylie Masse took the silver in 58.40, and Claire Curzan from the United States came third in 58.67.

Chinese Wan Letian (59.77) and Peng Xuwei (1:00.01) finished fourth and seventh respectively.
