U.S. national average gas price hits new record high on Memorial Day


WASHINGTON, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline hit a fresh record high of 4.619 U.S. dollars on Monday, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA).

The national average gas price has increased 2.3 cents, or up 0.5 percent from the past week, and 44.1 cents, or up 10.6 percent from a month ago, the latest data showed.
