Tanzania plans to introduce mobile courts to decongest cases awaiting trial

DAR ES SALAAM, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa told parliament on Thursday that the government planned to introduce mobile courts in all districts in the 2022/2023 financial year in a move aimed at decongesting cases awaiting trial.

"This plan will fast track trial of cases countrywide, especially in remote areas," Majaliwa told the House when he responded to Zuwena Athumani, a Member of Parliament for special seats, who demanded the government explain measures it was taking to ensure the fast-tracking of case trials.
