Microsoft reports Q3 results with revenue up 18 pct

SAN FRANCISCO, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Microsoft posted Tuesday its better-than-expected revenue of 49.4 billion U.S. dollars in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2022 ending March 31, up 18 percent from the same period last year.

The company generated quarterly net profits of 16.7 billion dollars, an increase of 8 percent year on year, while diluted earnings per share went up 9 percent to reach 2.22 dollars. Its operating income was 20.4 billion dollars and increased 19 percent, Microsoft said in its third quarter of 2022 fiscal year report.
