Five UK police officers to face misconduct hearings linked to Everard case

LONDON (Reuters) - Five police officers will face misconduct proceedings, Britain's police watchdog said on Friday, following two investigations into social media messages linked to the case of a fellow officer who abducted, raped and murdered a woman.

Wayne Couzens was jailed for life last month after using his position as a serving officer to abduct marketing executive Sarah Everard on a London street in March before raping and murdering her in a case that shocked Britain and stirred protests over violence against women.
