Covid-19: Pilgrims, visitors to Saudi Arabia must have insurance coverage

RIYADH (Bernama): Foreign pilgrims and visitors who are visiting Saudi Arabia must now have insurance coverage against the risk of Covid-19.

Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the latest requirement for insurance policy coverage was announced by the Saudi Central Bank and the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance on Sunday (May 2).

The step is aimed at providing healthcare to the insured persons in case of exposure to Covid-19 infections during their stay in the Kingdom and to allow patients to receive speedy access to health services.

It also provides insurance covering for the costs of detected cases as well as the costs of quarantine for the infected, in addition to emergency cases of medical evacuation, SPA added. - Bernama
