BANGKOK (Reuters) - A Thai anti-government protest leader held in pre-trial detention on charges of insulting the country's monarchy has been hospitalised following 46 days of hunger strike, the corrections department said on Friday.
Parit "Penguin" Chiwarak has lost more than 12 kg (26.5 lb) and now weighs 94.5 kg, the department said in a statement, adding he was admitted over concerns he could go into shock if his condition worsened and require specialised care.
