Tunisia to receive 1st batch of COVID-19 vaccine in mid-February: ministry

TUNIS, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- A first batch of 93,600 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine will be acquired in mid-February and over 500,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine will be provided at the end of February, Hechmi Louzir, director general of the Pasteur Institute of Tunis (IPT) announced Saturday.

"These doses are part of the international COVAX initiative," Louzir who is a member of Tunisian scientific committee for the fight against the coronavirus, specified in a statement to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).
