German shares close flat Monday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 7.96 points, or 0.06 percent, to close at 13,726.74 points.

European multinational online food-delivery service Delivery Hero won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 7.52 percent. Energy group RWE and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement rose by 3.99 percent and 2.94 percent respectively.

Automotive supplier Continental lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.76 percent. Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen and reinsurance company Munich Re went down by 2.58 percent and 1.94 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 312.36 million euros (384.08 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 16.95 percent to close at 1.871 euros per share on Monday.
