LAGOS, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Friday welcomed the release of schoolboys abducted by Boko Haram insurgents in the northwestern part of Nigeria last week.
"I am relieved to hear that about 344 children are reported to have been released last night and we look forward to their safe returns to their families," Peter Hawkins, UNICEF Nigeria Representative said in a statement.
