Tanzanian police seize 23 kg of ivory

DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian police said on Friday they have seized 10 pieces of ivory weighing 23 kilograms and arrested two suspected poachers in connection with illegal possession of the ivory.

Emmanuel Lukula, the Kilimanjaro regional police commander, said the ivory was seized on Thursday evening in Rombo district along the Tanzania-Kenya border following a tip-off from Good Samaritans.
