Roundup: Iran reports highest 6,134 daily new COVID-19 cases as Morocco's tally of infections exceeds 190,000

CAIRO, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Iran rose to 556,891 on Friday with a record high of 6,134 daily new infections. Meanwhile, the tally of coronavirus infections in Morocco surpassed 190,000.

The pandemic has so far claimed 31,985 lives in Iran, the hardest-hit country in the Middle East region, up by 335 in the past 24 hours. A total of 446,685 coronavirus patients have recovered, with 4,933 still in critical condition.
