Mozambican gov't faces shortfall of 15 mln USD to assist displaced citizens

MAPUTO, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Mozambique's National Institute for Disaster Management said Tuesday that it is still in need of 15 million U.S. dollars to assist the people displaced by the armed conflicts in the northern province of Cabo Delgado and the central region of the country.

INGC's general director Luisa Meque told Radio Mozambique in an interview that the total budget to assist displaced families is 35 million U.S. dollars and that the institute has managed to secure more than 20 million dollars from the cooperation partners.
