ROME, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Italy's Ministry of Health on Thursday reported 974 new COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic in late February grew to 35,587, as another 10 patients died in the past 24 hours (down from 14 fatalities on Wednesday), the ministry reported.
