German shares lose 1.65 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 215.11 points, or 1.65 percent, to close at 12,842.66 points.

Housing association Vonovia lost the most among the blue chips, down by 6.38 percent, followed by housing association Deutsche Wohnen and energy group RWE, which lost 5.87 percent and 4.37 percent respectively.

Deutsche Bank, material manufacturer Covestro and automotive supplier Continental were the top three winners, rising 3.21 percent, 2.53 percent and 1.16 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 421.52 million euros (499.16 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 3.57 percent to close at 0.725 euros per share on Friday.
