CAIRO, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Iran's total COVID-19 cases exceeded 375,000 on Monday. Meanwhile, many countries in the Middle East start new school year amid concerns over the spread of the COVID-19.

Iran, the hardest-hit country in the Middle East region, reported an overnight registration of 1,642 novel coronavirus infections, bringing the tally in the country to 375,212.
