Economic, social and religious activities suspended in Nepal with resurging COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Almost all economic, social and religious activities in 48 districts out of 77 districts of Nepal have been restricted as the Himalayan country is witnessing a rapid resurgence of COVID-19 cases, Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs said on Sunday.

"Chief District Officers have issued prohibitory orders in 48 districts including the districts of Kathmandu Valley, the capital city," the ministry said in a statement.
