YANGON, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has registered 4,121 dengue infections with 32 deaths over first six months of this year, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports on Monday.
From Jan. 1 to July 11, Myanmar saw a decline in number of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever infection cases compared to the corresponding period of previous years, the release said.
The mosquito-borne dengue fever disease mostly occurs in Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, Magway regions and Mon state, the release said.
It was learnt that the ministry is making strenuous efforts to accelerate preventive and control measures against the dengue fever as a national plan to reduce the infection and mortality rates.
Myanmar reported over 24,000 dengue fever cases with at least 100 deaths last year, the Ministry's figures said.
