TEHRAN, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Iran's rial gained value against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday as the government of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani decided to intervene to brake up the rampant pace of devaluation of rial over the past weeks.

The recent hike in U.S. dollar's value put the currency's gain against rial at about 55 percent on Sunday since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year that started on March 20.
