Model goes blind in one eye after having eyeballs tattooed black

WARSAW, Poland (ANN): A model has gone blind in one eye and may lose sight in the other after she had her eyeballs tattooed black in Warsaw, Poland.

Aleksandra Sadowska underwent the operation back in 2016, but was only told by doctors recently that she could end up completely blind, The Sun reported last Thursday, Feb 27. The 25-year-old got the idea from her favorite rapper Popek, who also dyed his eyeballs black.

Following the procedure, Sadowska complained of sharp pain in her eyes. The tattoo artist, known as Piotr, simply told her that the sensation was normal and advised her to take painkillers.

Despite following the tattoo artist’s suggestion, she said the pain had not subsided and that she had already been left “completely blind” in her right eye. According to the report, she is also rapidly losing sight in her left one.

An investigation into the incident later revealed that Piotr had made mistakes when he worked on Sadowska. The report stated that Piotr had used ink meant for tattooing skin on the model’s eyes.

“There is clear evidence that the tattoo artist did not know how to perform such a delicate procedure, ” the Sadowska’s lawyers were quoted as saying. “And yet he decided to perform it which led to this tragedy.”

The tattoo artist had been charged for unintentionally severely disabling Sadowska, as per report. He also faces up to three years in jail. Piotr has since denied the charges and is set to appear in court soon. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network
