ROME (Reuters) - Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi promised on Monday to push economic and institutional reforms in Rome and promote his pro-growth agenda in Brussels after securing an emphatic victory in elections for the European parliament at the weekend.
In the final tally, more than 40.8 percent of Italian voters cast ballots for Renzi's centre-left Democratic Party (PD), almost double the 21.2 percent won by the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement of former comic Beppe Grillo.
