REUTERS - The U.N. Security Council voted on Saturday to impose financial and arms sanctions on North Korea to punish the reclusive Communist nation for its nuclear weapon test.
The Security Council has invoked Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter to impose sanctions on Afghanistan, Angola, Ethiopia and Eritrea, Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Iraq, Liberia, Libya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), the former Yugoslavia and Sudan.
