SOMETIMES the weight of the world feels so unbearable that even the smallest inconvenience makes one want to hide away.

This was said to have happened to a 13-year-old boy, who allegedly lodged a police report claiming someone tried to kidnap him just to avoid going to school.

Did this really happen?

VERDICT:

TRUE

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim says a student lodged a police report claiming that he was almost abducted while walking to school at about 9.22am on Thursday (Sept 11).

"Investigations revealed that the teenager had first told his 37-year-old father about the supposed incident, prompting both of them to go to Shah Alam police headquarters to give a statement.

However, during questioning, it was found that the boy’s claims were completely untrue. He later admitted that he fabricated the story as an excuse because he did not want to attend school after his shoes were soiled with cat faeces," he said in a statement on Thursday.

He added that no further action would be taken against the boy as he is still in school.

"Instead, police issued a stern warning to both the student and his father.

The father has since retracted the report, and the case has been closed,” said ACP Iqbal.
