QuickCheck: Are RM10,000 EPF withdrawals allowed for all?

DURING the pandemic, the government allowed contributors to the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) to withdraw their money under the i-Lestari, i-Sinar and i-Citra schemes.

On 16 March 2022, the government announced that it had agreed to allow EPF contributors to withdraw up to RM10,000 from their accounts.

In the shadow of the increasing food prices and living costs, has the government allowed RM10,000 EPF withdrawals for all again?

Verdict:

FALSE

According to recent posts by the EPF on its official social media channels, despite what has been circulating on social media and reports by unscrupulous websites, the government has not authorised another round of EPF withdrawals.

The EPF recommends that the public follow them on social media for the most recent and accurate information.
