THE wait for a meal can be frustrating, especially when the stomach has been empty for a long time – so much so that being “hangry” is a state that many can sympathise with.
That said, the use of weapons to go after a food provider is sufficiently rare and dangerous for it to turn heads and videos of it to go viral when such instances occur.
Recently, videos of a fight went viral on social media along with the claim that the altercation took place when a drunk man tried to attack a burger seller in Semenyih, which is near Kajang.
Did this brawl happen as claimed online?
VERDICT:

TRUE
In a statement, Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the incident was caused by a drunk man who went to a burger stall at about 9.45pm on Thursday (March 23).
He said that the fight kicked off when the drunk man spoke harshly to the stall owner while throwing a beer can at them, leading to a disagreement between the two.
“It became tenser when the drunk man took out a knife and a machete and attempted to attack the burger seller," he added.
The escalating chain of events saw other people intervene and try to break up the fight
ACP Mohd Zaid said that four men aged between 28 and 41 were detained, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with weapons.
"We also seized a machete, a knife and a ski mask. Those detained have been remanded until Monday (March 27)," added ACP Mohd Zaid.
