EARLIER this week, a screenshot of a message went viral on WhatsApp and social media containing an allegation that Datuk Seri Najib Razak is not in a jail cell at the Kajang Prison.
It was claimed in the two-part message that the former prime minister was "given a house within the prison grounds" that is "meant for senior prison officers".
The source of the information was cited as "a good friend whose cousin is a senior prison officer at Kajang".

In their rebuttal, the Prisons Department issued a short but stern statement on its official Facebook page on Wednesday (Sept 7).
"Inaccurate information. Stop spreading this," the department warned.
