QuickCheck: Did the govt reduce the ceiling price of 5kg bottled cooking oil?

IT was reported that the ceiling price of 5kg bottled cooking oil will be reduced to RM33.50 from RM34.70, starting from Sept 8. Is this true?

Special Task Force on Jihad against Inflation chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa said 5kg bottled cooking oil will be set at a maximum price of RM33.50 while bottled 3kg, 2kg and 1kg oil will be priced at RM21.10, RM14.30 and RM7.50 respectively from Sept 8 until Oct 7.

"The reduction is based on the price of crude palm oil (CPO) in August which was RM4,169 per metric tonne,” he told a press conference after chairing the special task force meeting on Thursday (Sept 1).
