IT HAS been said online that scammers have been misusing Bank Negara's logo to pose as its officers or as Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) personnel. Is this true?

In a post on its official Facebook page, Bank Negara confirmed that this has been happening.
It added that these scammers have been using its logo to pose as officers of the central bank or the LHDN to get unsuspecting people to download an app.
“Do not be fooled. End any conversation (with them) at once. If there are any doubts, contact the CCID Scam Response Centre at 03-2610 1559/1599 or BNMTELELINK at 1-300-88-5465,” said Bank Negara.
