In a statement on Monday, South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said police found a seven-minute video on Facebook showing a man forcing the victim to cut off his finger and beating him with a chain.

He added that the man - a jobless 49-year-old - is believed to have forced the victim to do so to prove he did not murder his girlfriend.

"We received a report at around 1am on Monday from the 36-year-old victim, who claimed he got into a heated argument with the suspect on Nov 13 last year at a house at Taman Chi Liung here," said ACP Cha.

He then said that the suspect slapped the victim and dared him to cut off his finger to prove he did not murder his girlfriend, who was a mutual friend of both men.

ACP Cha added that the victim then tried to prove his innocence by taking a meat cleaver and cutting off the little finger on his left hand before fainting.

He said that while the victim did not lodge a police report initially, the suspect came back to see the victim on April 10 and beat the victim's back, head, left hand and legs with a chain.

"The suspect recorded both incidents on his mobile phone," added ACP Cha.

ACP Cha said investigations revealed the victim's 35-year-old girlfriend was found dead on Nov 9 and the matter had been classified as sudden death.

He also said one Chong Guan Ming, 49, was being sought to help in the investigation.
