QuickCheck: Is there a website to check PerantiSiswa eligibility?

A link has been circulating, and it is claimed that this website can be used to check a person's eligibility for PerantiSiswa and the status of ongoing applications. Is this true?

In a statement issued on Wednesday (April 6), the Communications and Multimedia Ministry said that https://www.sistemguruonline.my/2022/04/permohonan-laptop-tablet-1.htm is an unofficial website and is not run by the Ministry.

"The application system is being developed and will start operating from April 15,” said Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek.

He issued the statement following a now-viral announcement on social media entitled "Terbaru: Permohonan bantuan laptop dan tablet dibuka pada 15 April ini!” (Latest: Laptop and tablet assistance applications open on April 15!).

A search of the link found that it had been deleted.

Mohammad advised the public not to easily believe information that has gone viral on social media and, instead, to be responsible digital citizens by referring to official sources to get the authentic and latest information.

PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia is a programme under the Budget 2021 to provide mobile tablets to higher education students from the B40 group. A total of RM450mil had been allocated to the programme.
