Thailand rescues hotels by turning them into quarantine facilities

BANGKOK (Xinhua): In a bid to rescue more than 100 hotels from liquidation, the Thai government has leased hotel rooms to serve as mandatory quarantine facilities for oversea Thai returnees amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

According to the Thai Hoteliers' Association on Wednesday, 95 per cent of the 32,564 hotels registered in Thailand have been hit financially by the pandemic.
