BEIJING: China has taken measures to improve novel coronavirus prevention work and ensure safe travels during the Spring Festival travel rush as people are returning to work after the holiday.

The country's railways had transported 19,765 tonnes of epidemic control supplies by Tuesday evening (Feb 4), with total passenger trips expected at 1.3 million on Tuesday, down 88.5% year on year.
