Haze: Selangor and KL schools to remain open on Oct 22

PETALING JAYA: Schools in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur will remain open on Thursday (Oct 22).

The Selangor Education Department said on Wednesday (Oct 21) that outdoor activities are suspended, and students attending school are encouraged to wear face masks.

Administrators must continuously monitor the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings from the Environment Department (DOE) and pay special attention to high-risk students.

"Parents or guardians who are concerned about their children's health may choose not to send them to school, provided they notify the school," the department said in a statement.

It also advised all parties to rely solely on official channels or the schools themselves for accurate and up-to-date information.
