Interpol Red Notice issued against Serba Dinamik chief, says PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Interpol has issued a Red Notice against Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd's group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister said the notice followed the Securities Commission's (SC) efforts to pursue action against Karim.

"Most recently, the SC obtained an arrest warrant for Karim. Interpol has also issued a Red Notice to help locate and arrest him," he said during Prime Minister's Question Time on Tuesday (Oct 20).

Anwar said the SC had continued its investigations into other transactions involving Karim, leading to charges being brought against him and another individual in early 2026 over transactions and false statements involving Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB).

In March 2026, it was reported that the SC obtained an arrest warrant for Karim, who was also the former chairman and non-independent, non-executive director of SCIB.

The SC said Karim had previously been charged by the commission in 2021 for a similar offence involving false information in Serba Dinamik's financial statements.

However, the matter was resolved through a RM3mil compound after the Public Prosecutor accepted Karim's representation.

The SC said Karim was wanted for the same offence under Section 369(b)(B) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007.

The Public Prosecutor had granted consent for criminal proceedings against Karim over his involvement in causing SCIB to submit a false statement to Bursa Malaysia.
