KUALA LUMPUR: Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain says he is prepared to face any decision by the country's legal system as he is expected to be charged on Wednesday (Oct 21) over the alleged assault of two policemen at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general said he accepted and respected whatever decision was made, adding that he would attend court as required.
“As I have said before, there is a price to pay for changes to improve Malaysia's borders, and that price is me.
“Tomorrow, I am ready to face the country's legal process.
“I accept and respect whatever decision is made, and I will attend court,” he said when contacted on Tuesday (Oct 20).
Comm Mohd Shuhaily also thanked Malaysians who had continued to support him in carrying out his duties.
“I am also grateful to those who continue to pray for me and for the smooth execution of my duties,” he said.
He confirmed that he had been informed of the charging process, which is scheduled to take place at the Sepang Court tomorrow morning.
Comm Mohd Shuhaily is expected to face a charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt to the two policemen.
On Oct 17, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) had returned the investigation papers to the police for further action.
He said the AGC had requested several improvements to the investigation papers before deciding on the next course of action.
