Connecting the dots and celebrating bonds

Sunway Group’s Central Region Media Night 2026 featured live performances, a Kahoot! quiz and a lucky draw, with winners taking home an array of prizes.

SUNWAY Group welcomed more than 300 media partners to its Central Region Media Night 2026 at Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, celebrating longstanding relationships built on trust and collaboration.

Themed "Polka Dot Glam," the event followed Sunway's Northern Region Media Night in Seberang Jaya in June. Guests arrived in polka dot-inspired attire, bringing the evening's theme to life through a colourful display of patterns and style.

"Tonight is all about reconnecting with you, our media friends and partners with whom we have had the privilege of working over many years," said Sunway Group chief brand strategy officer Nik Tasha Nik Kamaruddin.

Reflecting on a milestone year for the group, including the listing of Sunway Healthcare on Bursa Malaysia, Sunway Group chief brand strategy officer Nik Tasha Nik Kamaruddin.said the company’s growth continues to be guided by its core values of integrity, humility and excellence.

She spoke about the rapid transformation of the media landscape, where artificial intelligence is reshaping how news is gathered, produced and consumed, while misinformation and disinformation continue to test public confidence in information sources.

"At a time when it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish fact from fiction, your role as gatekeepers of truth has never been more important," she said.

"Good journalism requires curiosity, judgement, experience and integrity. Importantly, you hold people and institutions accountable. Yes, that includes Sunway."

She reaffirmed Sunway's support for a strong and independent media, noting the important role journalists have played in chronicling both Sunway's journey and Malaysia's development over the past five decades.

"Sunway deeply values a robust, independent and responsible media. For more than 50 years, the media has helped tell not just our story, but Malaysia's story as well," she said.

Looking ahead, Nik Tasha said Sunway remains committed to working closely with the media as the group enters its next chapter.

The evening featured live performances, a Kahoot! quiz and a lucky draw, with winners taking home an array of prizes. Guests who best embodied the Polka Dot Glam theme were also recognised with best-dressed awards.
