Melaka polls: BN and PAS agree 'in principle' for political cooperation, says Hadi

PETALING JAYA: PAS and Barisan Nasional have reached an agreement in principle for cooperation in the upcoming Melaka polls, says Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

However, the PAS president said the process of allocating seats and selecting candidates is still being discussed.

"In principle, a large part of the negotiations has reached agreement. But the number of seats is still being discussed and the candidates will also be discussed," he said, reported Sinar Harian.

On Friday, Perikatan Nasional confirmed that they are looking to contest more than four state seats in the Melaka polls scheduled Nov 14.

Perikatan deputy chairman Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man had said cooperation with Barisan would be finalised in the near future.

Abdul Hadi also said political cooperation will have to take into consideration the situation in each state including Melaka, Johor and Negri Sembilan.

He added that the list of candidates would be discussed before being presented to the PAS Syura Council for approval.
